Team leader in solo tackles (68), total tackles (92) and tackles-for-loss (15) ... added to these impressive totals, 3 sacks, 1 interception, nine passes-broken-up, 10 passes-defended, one forced-fumble and two fumble recoveries. Shared team's defensive MVP award. Seriously short-changed in postseason honors.

2009

Missed the first couple of weeks of fall camp and then started the first four games. Finished his season (11 games) with 29 tackles (16 unassisted) and one forced fumble.

Junior College/High School

At strong safety in 2008 he had 70 tackles, including 52 solo stops, two interceptions and forced one fumble. Returned seven kickoffs for a 19.7-yard average. All-Jayhawk Conference honorable mention.

A two-star prospect by both Rivals and Scout after playing his senior season at Harvey High School in Painsville, Ohio. Earned scholarship offers from Iowa, Bowling Green, Kent State, Toledo and Indiana.
